Consolidated Baptist Church

When Consolidated Baptist Church approached us to be their sound/video installation company, most of the major decisions concerning the design were already made. This presented us with some unique challenges. It became our job to work within these design constraints yet maintain the quality and integrity of a Pro Sound installation.
One major issue was getting consistant sound quality throughout the sanctuary. The nature of the room made it difficult to get a consistent volume level from the first to the last row of seating. To overcome this obstacle, we used an exploded cluster of EAW MK21xx series speakers for the main system and EAW MK81xx series speakers for the delay speakers, to cover the back of the room and the sound booth, which is up in the balcony.
Since the system required many power amplifiers to drive all the sanctuary speakers as well as the speakers distributed throughout the building, we opted to install a single switch, power sequencing system that powers the the equipment on and off in the correct order so as not to damage the speakers. Because Consolidated Baptist Church has only volunteer operators, one of our goals was to keep the system as simple to operate as possible.
The video system consists of a Da-Lite screen, a Proxima 3300 lumens LCD projector, and a multimedia computer running MediaShout© presentation software. The screen, which is in front of the baptismal, can be raised and lowered by remote control from the sound booth to allow for use of the baptismal during the same service as the screen.
After completing the main system at Consolidated Baptist, we were asked to install other secondary systems in the building. These include a small sound system in the fellowship hall for choir practices and special events, and a closed circuit video system from the sanctuary to the fellowship hall for overflow seating.
