Centenary Methodist
Danville, KY Having worked with Centenary United Methodist Church for many years on upgrades to their main sanctuary, it was a logical decision to hire Pro Sound and Lights to design and install new sound, light and video systems for their Christian Life Center which opened in the summer of 2002.
Working closely with the music minister, several unique challenges had to be overcome to satisfy the needs of this multi-purpose room. Since the room is designed to accomodate traditional worship services, local and regional productions, and standard gymnasium usage, it was necessary to provide a system that had plenty of power, yet provided excellent coverage. We chose EAW speakers for the room because of their high quality to price ratio, and because of their appearance being specifically designed for these types of installations.
The lighting system was designed with a high level of flexibility because of the multiple uses of the facility. This was acheived by utilizing a combination of ETC and Altman light fixtures mounted on three different pipes located at three different positions in relation to the stage.

The church requested a single screen video projection system. Because of the very large screen size and long distance needed, a high lumens Mitsubishi projector with a long throw lens was used to project the image over 85 feet from the sound booth to the back of the stage wall. At the heart of the video system is a custom built multimedia computer running MediaShout presentation software, which is specifically designed for multimedia applications in worship.
